Toronto: The anticipated Toronto Real Estate spring rebound did not happen in April but Toronto Area homes increased 5 per cent from April, 2007. In the City of Toronto the average price increased to $446,781, up 6 per cent from April 2007.
Home sales declined for the fourth consecutive month as the momentum could not keep up with the record highs of 2007.
Toronto resales were down an average of 10 per cent with 3,467 transactions and the 905 area down 5 per cent with 5,295 April resales.
The Greater Toronto Area had a total of 8,762 houses sold, down 7 per cent from the record 9,452 transactions in April 2007.
Despite the decline in sales several neighbourhoods did experience strong price increases. Downtown Toronto Condos (C01) were up 10 per cent in price from April 2007. Downtown Condos in ( C08 ) were up 20 per cent in price as well from April 2007. North York Condos (C14) were up 8 per cent in price over April 2007.
