I was reading that 40% of new homes sold in Toronto are Condominiums and in 2005, a record of more than 17,000 new Condos sold in the area. In North America, the next largest market for new Condominiums was Miami with 7,500 sold, followed by Chicago 6,800 and New York 6,450.
Not only are these Condominiums affordable for first time buyers, they have become more attractive because of location and the Condo lifestyle. Convenient locations and shared amenities offer tremendous value for consumers. There are Party Rooms, Indoor and Outdoor Pools, Bowling Alleys, Basketball and Tennis Courts, Running Tracks and Weight Rooms along with Massage Rooms and Health Bars.
With about 2,000 High-rise buildings in the Greater Toronto Area, it ranks behind only New York in the number of high-rises for North American cities. Toronto has more Condominiums than Chicago or Los Angeles even though they are larger urban centres. Initially the high-rise Condominiums were downtown Toronto but now they are spread out over North York, Scarborough, Mississauga and as far away as Oakville and Oshawa.
As a Remax Agent here in Toronto I would be glad to arrange a showing of any of the Condominiums listed on our Toronto Multiple Listing Service (MLS) You can visit my Website for more information on the Toronto Real Estate Market.
